PRIVATE, CLOUD-FREE, INTELLIGENT CAMERA SECURITY

AI security solution that keeps your private data in your control.

EspialNVR is a small box that sits in your house. Your cameras record to it, it can recognize the faces of the people who live there, and you watch everything from a phone app. No cloud account, no monthly fee, and no footage sent to a company you've never met.

The problem

Home security became surveillance-as-a-service.

Buy a camera today and you're really signing up for someone else's data center — and their monthly bill.

Your footage is someone else's product

Mainstream cameras stream your family's most private moments to a corporate cloud — indexed, retained, and governed by a policy you didn't write.

Security behind a subscription

Recording, history, and even basic features are metered monthly. Stop paying and the hardware you bought stops being a security system.

Recognition you can't switch off

Cloud AI decides who your family is, whether you asked or not. There is no 'off' that actually means off.

What it is

A security system that lives in your home, not a data center.

EspialNVR pairs a small on-premises device with a phone app. It watches, records, and recognizes — and when you don't want recognition, switching it off is a supported, first-class configuration, not a downgrade.

Live view & recordings

Watch live and browse recorded clips from your phone — direct, low-latency, over your own network.

Recognition that knows your family

On-device face recognition tells you who is at the door — tuned to never mistake a stranger for someone you love.

One quiet box at home

A single self-contained device on your shelf does the recording, the AI, and the serving. No rack, no noise.

A companion app, not a dashboard

Live, recordings, and settings in three calm screens. The app talks to exactly one local service.

Why EspialNVR

Why now — and why it's hard to copy.

The technology just crossed the line

On-device AI is finally good enough

Modern edge accelerators run real face recognition — not just motion blobs — on a device that costs less than a year of cloud subscription. The technical excuse for shipping video to the cloud is gone.

Privacy as architecture, not policy

Optional by design, not by settings page

Recognition and AI captioning can be fully switched off and the product stays whole. Privacy-conscious customers are a supported class of install, not an edge case — a stance competitors structurally can't copy.

No recurring cost center

The whole stack is owned

Hardware, software, and app are one stack with no per-camera cloud bill behind it. The business model doesn't depend on renting customers access to their own footage.

How it works

Four stage pipeline

01

Camera

Off-the-shelf RTSP cameras on a local network stream to the NVR — no internet connection required

02

On-device recording

Motion-triggered clips are recorded and organized locally - the recordings never leave the device without your permission

03

On-device recognition

The NVR's AI pipeline scrutinizes household members from unknown strangers, and triggers smart devices or alarms accordingly — strictly optional

04

Your phone

The app talks to exactly one device, your NVR box. Data flows directly to your phone over an end-to-end encrypted relay.

Built to keep running

Security that doesn't stop when things go wrong.

Traditional cameras lose power and stop recording during a power or internet outage. EspialNVR is engineered around the assumption that infrastructure fails.

Rides out power outage

Built-in battery backup keeps recording when the power goes out — the moment a security system matters most.

Survives your Wi-Fi going down

The box hosts its own LTE network, so cameras keep recording, and live-stream remains accessible even when the router or the internet drops.

Reports its own health

NVR's power, battery, storage, and network state can be monitored and recorded in real-time on the app — you will always know the state of your security system.

Where it stands

A working prototype + deployable on your own hardware.

The EspialNVR prototype provides a tightly integrated and reliable device that is plug-and-play for the end consumer...

... but the software can be deployed on any compatible consumer device, it's yours to play with.

Working today

  • Live view and recording playback, end to end
  • Real-time face recognition pipeline, running on-device
  • Power, network, and system health reporting to the app
  • Self-hosted network — cameras keep recording through outages

Next

  • Recognition accuracy tuning against real-world enrollment
  • Push notifications for people and events
  • Secured access when you're away from home

Principles

Rules the product won't break.

Your data stays yours

Footage and identities live on hardware in your home. There is no server-side copy to breach, mine, or subpoena.

Recognition you can switch off

AI features are optional by design. Off is a supported, polished configuration — the product never treats privacy as a downgrade.

Answers, not thresholds

The system tells you what matters — who's at the door, battery low, recording stopped — in plain language, never raw numbers to interpret.

Nothing requires a subscription

Every feature works because the hardware is yours. There is no monthly meter between you and your own security system.
